By clicking on PODCAST I’m providing you with my Rock & Pop Hour on BBC South & South-East Local Radio Network, which was broadcast across 9 southern counties of the UK in the last 3 years of the 1990s and the early years of the new century. It is a miracle that I have these, because they were recorded on the now obsolete long-play minidisc format, so that I could critically appraise my performance when I got home after the show.

I have managed to dust them off and transfer the contents on to CD and hard-drive via my last surviving and remaining MD player (saving more than £1,000 that a specialist company wanted to charge me)!!

I find that the most interesting part of these recordings is not the music I played, or what I said about it, but the news stories of the day, although I sadly wiped the news from some of the original minidiscs.

Each PODCAST is dated as the date the broadcast first went out. RAJAR listening figures indicated an audience of about 55,000 for most weeks, because it went out to Hampshire, Dorset, the Isle-Of-Wight, West & East Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Berkshire, Oxford and Buckinghamshire. One or two of the BBC Counties occasionally opted out to broadcast commentaries of Monday Night Premier League football, and lower league soccer, but thankfully not too often.

By clicking on PODCAST you can also listen to all 52 episodes of my 1950s Chart Show series, recorded in 2011, which went out to the whole of Hampshire, West Sussex and the Isle-Of-Wight on DAB, the Borough of Havant on FM, and online worldwide. These podcasts are dated by the featured 1950s Charts (rather than the date of the broadcast).

By clicking on POP COLUMNS you can now find my West Sussex Observer “Record Review” (later called “CD Review”) Columns for the years 1985 to 1994. My dear late-Mother kept a folder of the cuttings, with only a few missing, and I have digitalised them and posted them here.

Happy Listening and Happy Reading.
Best Wishes, Bob.
